2022 Chardonnay (6-pack)

6 bottles of our first Biogro certified organic vintage of 2022 Nous Chardonnay from a very small yielding year (137g/vine or 1.5t/ha). A restrained and pure Chardonnay with mealy undertones and a fine boned acid structure running through the palate. 

Growing Season: A very wet winter (341mm) gave the vines a good start and enabled a growth flush of spring roots. Spring was warm and kind with no grave frosts but the rain continued with 180mm. This theme continued into summer with 260mm of rain. A record breaking wet season. 

Harvested: 13th March 2022 by Rachael, Murray + Greg from dawn until dusk with the odd Covid RAT test in between.

Elevage: Gentle pressing straight to barrel for fermentation. Natural fermentation largely completed by the end of winter, with MLF naturally taking place in spring.

Bottled: 350 bottles in mid September 2023 (18 months in barrel) without fining or filtration so a light haze remains.
